But, not the moving truck because... we're not moving! Or @ least not right now! That cute little white house that we were in the process of buying has some not-so-cute issues. Buying this house has been somewhat of a literal roller coaster ride. First, everything was good. Then, there are problems with our loan & the fact that the house is in a flood plain. No reason to panick yet. Matter resolved & all is good again. Then, problems with the house not passing an FHA inspection... buying is off. Some work was done, & other related matters again resolved... buying the house is on again! Now seems like everything is on track for purchase & approaching closing date. BUT... a conversation with parents about some notes printed on a fax from the septic company & possible problems exist yet again. We get the low down on the notes & their meaning only to discover notes meant part of septic system needs replaced (to which other owners were aware, but did not disclose), all to the tune of several thousand dollars. Not our problem, therefore... not our $ that will be fixing it. Buying house in jeopardy. Make offer to owners to pay to have problem fixed & will still consider buying. Owners come back with really lame deal... we say _ _ _ _ NO! (please fill in your own explitive) Buying off again... permanently!
Although we were a little disappointed to not be buying our very first house, we are SUPER grateful to not have purchased the home & then discovered the problem after the fact. I, personally, am also happy that we will not be moving & having a baby all around the same time. We may like to make things dramatic, but that was turning out to be too much drama, even for us! We're still house shopping, but so far there is nothing around the area that fits our criteria... so, we'll just keep looking & see if something pops up!

sorry to hear that the buying is off, but i t sounds like it's better you found out the issues now instead of later.
That sucks about the house. Mary and I are dying to get into a real house too. We need more space!
Oh thats so frustrating. We completely understand. We had several issues with buying our house (and ours was new!). It comes with the territory I think. But lots of stress nonetheless. Glad you found out ahead of time! Good luck with the house hunt!
(But there are several nice houses in Logan...hint hint).
