We can't believe Ava turned 9 years old! It seems like it wasn't that long ago that we were the only ones in our circle of friends with a baby, & now that "baby" is 9 & not even close to a baby anymore! In fact, she is nearly as tall as I am... NEARLY, but not quite! She has taken on the roll of big sister like a champ & can often be heard using friendly persuasion to get Emma to do something she is nervous to do. She reads to her sisters, plays with them & teases them just like a big sister should. (Well, not Lyndie just yet, but her turn is coming!) She's a good student, a piano player in training & a girl with a passion for music & dancing. She's starting to do "older girl" things like care about what her hair looks like or if her clothes match or her shoes look good with her pants!
For this year's party Ava chose 3 friends to take roller skating. I even made it the entire time without falling (because at my age that would have been painful!) All the girls had fun & mostly had the hang of it by the time the session was over. The after-skating plan was to get Pizza Hut pizza on the way home, but a 1.5 hr. wait time for pickup was a little over our time constraints so we had to detour to Little Caesars. Luckily 9 year olds aren't too picky about where their pizza comes from!
