Ava had an art party with her friends, which was scary for neat-freak me, but actually proved to be not too messy. We sent kids home with paint on paper & not their clothes, and our house came out on top too! Here are some pictures of the party:
The mess after "sand art!"
The pinata full of wonderful things!
The excitement of opening presents!
Finger Painting
Decorating door hangers (with glitter glue being the most popular medium!)
A staged "blow out the candles" picture! We weren't fast enough for a real one!
Here's a list of things that 4-year-olds can do that 3-year-olds can't (according to Ava):
~ Reach the sink & things that are high
~ Jump higher
~ Run a lot faster (this included a demonstration)
We think our 4-year-old Ava is pretty smart & funny. She never ceases to amaze us... here are a few examples:
~ She learned the entire brand new primary song on the first Sunday it was taught.
~ She can tell you all about things like levers & fulcrums (pretty sure I didn't
learn that until Jr. High!)
~ She remembers just about anything (which isn't always good!) like names of stores,
places, restaurants, etc. that we've ever been to.
~ She already has goals in life... she says she wants to be a vet when she grows up!
~ She has been caring for her baby non-stop since Christmas, so we KNOW she is going
to be a GREAT big sister
We love our Ava & wouldn't trade her for anything (well truthfully, there are somedays we might trade her for a little free time or peace & quiet, but other than that...!)

Holy cow! Time flies. I was trying to figure what number we celebrated with her, and it had to have been #2. Whoa!
The party looks like a smashing success and Ava sounds like she's a great 4 year-old.
Wow...you are sooo brave!! I can't beleive our babies are 4!!!!
