A Winner, None The Less

It all began with an exciting phone call... Jacob Newman's name has been drawn as a qualifier in the KUPI 99/Broulim's $25,000 giveaway contest. Jacob Newman... 1 out of 25 names picked for a chance to win this top prize! What's even more amazing is that there were thousands of entries at each of the Broulim's in Eastern Idaho! Excited... why, yes we were! Dreams flowed as we drove to the Rigby Broulim's yesterday evening! Of course, the top prize would be totally awesome, but they had other prizes that would have been equally cool and we would have gladly accepted any of them! We arrived at the store, signed in and read the rules.

Here's how it all worked:
Entry cards of the 25 qualifiers were placed in a bag and drawn out at random. If your name was called you got a consolation prize and were out of the running for the grand prize of a chance to win $25,000. The last person standing without having had their name pulled from the bag was the person who got the 1 and only chance to win the prize. That person was required to open envelopes, trying to match 5, which would then denote the prize. Prize options were these: $25,000; $2,500; $1,000; or $1,000 gift card to Broulim's.

So we left Broulim's, big dreams crushed, but with a consolation prize in hand. We are now left to wallow our sorrow in tortilla chips, cheese dip and CARS fruit snacks, and redeem our coupon for a lottery ticket! Maybe we'll get lucky that way!!!
