A Good Start

Well, it looks like we started the year off right church-wise. The first Sunday of the New Year in our callings came off pretty decently. Jacob said that his Sunday School class (17 & 18 yr. old) was great! They participated, made comments, read the lesson, and even prayed that they were grateful for his willingness and preparation to teach. And all this from high school students... WOW!

My Primary class (4 & 5 yr. old) was slightly rambunctious, and there were only 2 kids there today!!! But, I had some fun things planned for the lesson, and they got their own box of crayons, and a CTR ring - which was a brilliant idea - they loved it! A couple hours after church, the mom of one boy, who I thought didn't really listen to the lesson, called me to say that all he had talked about since he got home was "Choosing the Right." She said that he would keep reminding himself by looking at his ring, and was asking other members of his family if they were "Choosing the Right." Pretty sweet. Guess he was listening after all!

And Ava... well, she still gets to attend Nursery since her birthday is in January. But about 10 kids left Nursery headed for Sunbeams, leaving only about 6 kids, and the Nursery leaders said that Ava was the best she had ever been since we moved here. She participated in the lesson, and sang songs during music time and everything! Awesome! Looks like we're all off to a good start, and we're crossing our fingers in hopes that it stays that way!
