March Birthdays

Since I've been absent from blog world for a little more than a month now I have to do some backtracking & cover a few things that got missed in that time!

March holds 2 birthdays in our family - Dad & Emma.

For some reason when Jacob's birthday rolls around we like to advertise it to the neighborhood! The kids made the banner that we hung on the garage. Jacob frugally chose to grill hamburgers at home for his birthday dinner (the rest of us choose eating out!) He even did the grilling himself since there is no guarantee that anything I grill will come out edible! We topped it off with strawberry Jello poke cake for candle blowing & dessert.

Emma's birthday fell during the week, so we had cake, candles & presents with our little family on that day. She chose to eat food from our favorite diner Mick's, but she was very specific that she wanted to bring it home & eat while we watched a movie. When it's your birthday, you're in charge - so we obliged!

Emma had to wait until Saturday for her party & she chose a Frozen themed party... imagine that! Little girls' heads were adorned with Elsa crowns, they made ice paintings, had a Frozen dance & sing-along session, had an indoor snowball fight, played the present-passing game to Frozen music, pinned the nose on Olaf & ate Frozen-inspired camouflage cupcakes with "crystallized" sprinkles on top! A fun party indeed! (If you notice Emma's less-than-enthusiastic look, she started out feeling good & then quickly progressed to feeling not-so-good & not wanting to participate much. Turns out she ended up with the flu after that! How nice right? Come to a party, go home with the flu!)
