Spontana

Say what??!! Spontana... Spontaneous Montana. Keep reading to discover why we mixed words to make up new ones on this trip.

A few weeks ago Jacob randomly decided that he needed to go to Montana for taxidermy purposes. He mentioned it on a Thursday afternoon & we packed up that night & headed on a fast road trip the next morning. Great Falls is quite a ways (6-ish hrs) from us, & despite the long hours in the truck & waiting for Dad at various places, the girls did awesome!

Our hotel stay in Great Falls was less than wonderful, but the kids always enjoy a free breakfast with all the possibilities! We opted to split from the hotel as early as we could manage & get on our way to other adventures. We did a little exploring in Great Falls even though we ran into lots of chilly wind. We found a big toy store to browse, a drive along the river to see the falls & a little path to walk & stretch our legs. That was when we came across the fish/buffalo statue that was a must see. The sign said it was a "Rainboffolo," but we didn't really liked that name. We came up with a "Buffafish" or "Fishalo" that we liked much better!

On the way home we made a special stop in Helena to ride The Great Northern Carousel. The girls had a blast & they each got a free ride which it made it even nicer.
