The weekend before Christmas we made the 2 hr. trek to Henry's Lake for some ice fishing. It was cold... only 3 fish were caught... end of story! We had a propane heater & one hooked up to a battery for warmth. It helped for a while before the cold got to be too much for me & my freezing toes. I took Emma (also slightly frozen) and retired to the truck to wait!
Each year we have an advent calendar full of Christmas activities. "Visit Santa" was one of them.
We only snapped a few pictures on Christmas morning as everyone was opening presents. Both the girls got slippers & had to model them for the camera!
The girls had fun playing & creating with their presents.
To top off the holiday we were able to make a quick trip to Grandma's house to spend time with the whole Newman family (something we had resigned was not going to happen this year). A regular Skype call with Jacob's brother, Jeremy (supposedly in NM), turned into an unexpected visit when he called from a sister's house in Utah! We went to sacrament meeting, since Ava & I were singing, ran home, threw some clothes in a bag & hopped in the car to Kimberly to meet up with the whole fam! What an awesome Christmas! We couldn't ask for anything better!
